The Brothers Gibb – Part 5

Bee Gees definitely led an interesting life: sailing from England to Australia with their family as kids, seeing the Pyramids, the Sahara Desert, the Suez Canal, and India, and then becoming an Aussie boy band- all before Maurice and Robin hit puberty. One can assume these experiences- as well as their Catholic education Down Under- must have had a great influence on the brothers’ sound, lyrics, and worldview and made them an even tighter unit before the trio returned to England ten years later to make it as pop stars in London at the height of the Swinging Sixties. Here are some more of my favorite Bee Gees songs- not so well known perhaps, but definitely unique, worldly, and- at times- otherworldly. Thanks for the music, Bee Gees. Enjoy!

01. Bee Gees – “Immortality (Demo)” (1996)
02. Bee Gees – “My Life Has Been a Song” (1973)
03. Bee Gees – “And the Sun Will Shine” (1968)
04. Bee Gees – “Back Home” (1970)
05. Bee Gees – “Please Don’t Turn Out the Lights” (1972)
06. Bee Gees – “I Held a Party” (1972)
07. Bee Gees – “Black Diamond” (1969)
08. Bee Gees – “With All Nations (International Anthem)” (1969)
09. Bee Gees – “Don’t Wanna Live Inside Myself” (1971)
10. Bee Gees – “You Know It’s for You” (1972)
